Youth

Jesus said, “"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."  Matthew 19:14

Many of our Calvary family, adults in their thirties and forties, experienced the love of Jesus and the power of His Holy Spirit at Calvary as children. They attended Sunday School and our popular Vacation Bible school, received instruction in confirmation, participated in youth group, and served on the worship team and as ushers.  Now they are leaders of various ministries at Calvary and their own children benefit from these same ministries.  Our youth continue to participate as singers and musicians on the praise team, serve as ushers, join in our Outreach Ministry to the homeless, and travel with adults to overseas mission trips.

We strive to make our Sunday worship a meaningful experience to our youth.  A children’s sermon is offered each week and Pastor Ed uses power point slides to illustrate and to teach during his sermon.  Youth worship folders with crayons are also available for younger children.

Youth Group

Miss Clary Nigels, a daughter of Calvary and an education major at CSU, began working with our youth group in January of 2010.  Our junior and senior high youth are excited about their meetings and events to date.  Youth group is something our younger youth look forward to participating in.

Youth Group Mission Statement: To have a safe place for the youth to come together and build relationships with one another as well as with God, and to strengthen their walk with Him.
