Church Leadership

Board of Elders

Consists of the Pastor and four men from the congregation who oversee the spiritual needs and well-being of the congregation. An elder serves for a term of 3 years with terms set up in rotation so that the terms of two elders expire each year. Pastor and the Board of Elders covet the prayers of all who attend Calvary that they may hear and do the will of God as they lead the Body here.

Vestry

Consists of the Pastor, all elected congregational officers and the chairmen of all the major committees. The Vestry usually meets on the second Sunday of each month to oversee the financial and business affairs of the church. The members of the Vestry keep track of the church's expenses, are responsible for repairs and upkeep of the buildings, and authorize any major expenditures for equipment and repairs which are not covered in the annual congregational budget. The Vestry also calls each quarterly Voter's Assembly and may call a special meeting of this Body if the occasion warrants.

Voter's Assembly

Which meets once each quarter, is given a report of all expenditures, hears committee reports to stay up to date on the ministries and mission of the church, and confirms issues of both "New" and "Old" business presented at the assembly. Anyone who is a member of Calvary is welcome to become a voting member. To become a voter, a Calvary member must attend one regularly scheduled meeting. At the close of the meeting, all those who wish are presented to the voters as in-coming members and may be confirmed as a voting member. The new voter then reads and signs a copy of the By-Laws and is encouraged to attend each meeting thereafter. If a voter misses two successive meetings, he/she will be removed from the roster of those eligible to vote and must be reinstated at a later meeting.

Church Office

Open Monday-Friday from 9:30am-5:30pm and may be reached by calling 766-3113. When the office is closed, callers may leave a message on the answering machine and the call will be returned as quickly as possible. Arrangements for pastoral counseling, bulletin and newsletter announcements, weddings, baptisms and other church functions are all made through the church office. If you would like to make a counseling appointment, receive further information about the church or its ministries, be added to our mailing list or be given a church mailbox or offering envelopes, the church office will be happy to help you.

Whether you are "officially a member" of Calvary or are a "worshiping friend", you are welcome to be part of the ministry here. All of the committees and ministries, (except worship teams and Elders whose members are approached by the leadership) welcome your participation!
